Download a program called CCleaner and run it:

www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Then restart your PC, then De-fragment it. If your harddrive is full and you don't do these things often, you will notice quite a significant increase in loading times of files.

I personally prefer a program called JKDefrag (I use it on all the machines at work) over the default defrag program that comes on windows. But it's entirely up to you as it won't make much of a difference between the two unless you're using ALOT of space (for example our machines have several TB each at work).

Can't restart the PC mate, then I won't be able to read the instructions you have just gave me.

I'm not daft, it's definitley running out of memory. Should I save my text docs in a smaller font size? I have a couple of Wordpad files there that are a good four paragraphs each. That should bring it down from like 97% full right?

What's that mate, one of those novelty USB memory sticks? Not a bad idea I guess. Can I save that file and print it out so I have some emergency memory? Dunno if that was your intention, but I'm a resourceful chap me.

Nah lol no Thor. ;)

Just been reading something else somwhere else and thought I would rip it off, but it's ironic how two people never picked up on the most idiotic part of it.

I assume the above post is from my router troubles :(. That's not an issue with a laptop. :)

I noticed you mentioned downloading a hardrive ;) But I just assumed you were a less computer literate person and didn't know what you were talking about.

Limp, how long have you had the cable that goes from the monitor to keyboard? If its old it might be rusty and slowing down the stuff getting through it. Might be worth adding a few more cables as well, see if that helps

Make your own space.

Delete Un-needed System 32 files.

Next time you boot up your laptop, shake it like fu*k. This should clear any blockages and is really good for your hard drive. :thumb:

Wait, should I have 31 other System folders? I've only got number 32, am I missing some?

try this.. turning all the 'CRAP' off the windows startup.. these are the programs that load with windows and sit down by the clock.. you only need the virus scanner to load with windows, the rest is making the computer slow.. this will require a restart
