Hello,

Ive currently got a 1.2 spin but I want to upgrade to a 1.6 gsi engine, what will I need to upgrade aswell as the engine? Is there any guides etc?

engine, gbox, suspension, brakes, exhaust, is the 1.2 spin carb or injection?? cos the fuel system will also need work too.

Its injection i think (no choke cable) lol i think it is that single point injection or whatever it is.

Swap the intank pump to an MPi version (can be taken from Cav/Calibras & Astra mk3 MPi cars). iirc the fuel pipes to & from tank/fuel rail need some swapping about too.

Drop the engine box in, you can keep your 1.2 driveshafts. The ECU will need a switched & constant live + an earth & you are away. Temp gauge wiring & rev counter are easy & just wire the EML wire into your clocks.

There should be a comprehensive guide on here somewhere. Even an XE wiring guide will help as GM use same colourings on wiring looms.

i fitted an sri engine to mine and used the xe guide for the wiring as its basicly the same
