Im going to be using my saloon for shows & the odd weekend really so i was just going to use weekend or daily insurance, But how does it work when it comes to getting tax for your car as you need cover note to get this ?

You can tax it with temp insurance. The insurance company should email you a certificate/cover note, which you can print out (printed certs are now accepted, they never used to be).

Bear in mind that due to the crappy new tax laws, as soon as the temp insurance is expired you need to SORN the car.

So even tho the car has mot, & 6 or 12 months tax you now have to sorn it if it has no insurance lmao,

Yep!

So if you temp insure it for, say, 3 days, you have to tax it for at least 6 months - then once the three days are up, SORN it again. But of course you'd only get a 5 month refund. Only 4 if your temp insurance period went over the end/start of the month!

And some people wonder why the government brought that law in... Hmm, let me guess lol
