Starter

The starter has shorted out and cooked on the V6 so needs replacing. As its got a flywheel and gearbox (F20) from an XE, do I need a starter to suit that, or one for a V6? If the latter, would a 2.5 one suffice?

Starters are for girls, just install a 'Dar' in your bay with a little crank handle and shout at him to wind it over when you wish to set off lol

I always thought that the starter had to match the ring gear on the flywheel so I would say go for the xe starter as that will match them.

im using a flat type xe flywheel on my f18 c25xe cav with v6 starter.
i think all v6 starters are the same
not sure if the c20xe starter fits the v6 tho as there pretty big

the c20xe starter does NOT fit the v6 block
i just checked one on my spare 3ltr block,
the mounting holes are in the wrone place and the c20xe starter wont go trough the whole in the block.
from what i mind the v6 starter is thinner and a bit longer, any v6 will fit
