urgent query

a lad is coming to buy my van and wants do transfer the money to my account when he gets here,
due to bank holiday banks shut ,and only day he can come for it due to living miles away

will it transfer straight in or have to clear?:confused:
dont want the van going if im not getting paid there and then

Is he with the same bank as you? Mine is fine with the same bank, but takes at least 3 days with another...

accept cash. and make sure its genuine. or use something like paypal. take a cheque & wait for it to clear before releasing the van, but do not accept anything electronic on a bank holiday.

my mate did this with his accord type R.. a couple of days later the transfer failed and bank took the funds back. the accord was never to be seen again.

My other half has just said a bank transfer can be cancelled up to 24hrs after sent.

I text him about this as he went offline so wouldnt have seen the posts saying no, he has just replied saying the guy was a timewaster and has left anyways:thumb:

thanks for the reply guys,he didnt want it as he said he already has 2 projects and feels its too much for him at the time as he wanted to paint it etc etc,
i think he was after a mint van,in relation its a good van for the money but painted and the inner wing patched where its gone its worth a lot more

i think he is a forum member but that doesnt mean a lot as not everyone is as genuine as others,though most ive dealt with are,
