Changing Door handles????

I want to change the standard Nova door handles with either the Astra, Cavalier, or Corsa rear door handles. You know, the ones without the locks in them. The thing is, I have asked loads of people I know and they just dont see how you can change them and still have the doors to open properley. Can Someone HELP me!!!!!!

not speaking from experience, BUT assuming the locks work the same way, either vertical or horizontal.

cut both the mechanisms, just longer than each other, and connect them with a connector block like you would use for electrical wires?

same kinda setup as a boot solenoid or summat?

or am i miles off here?
