View Full Version : Focus Do It All
Just nipped down my local Focus to find out there going bump & having a 20~30% sale on everything.
So if anyone on here is redecorating or doing there garden you got 2 weeks to abuse there prices before they shut compeltely.
Ohh I'll go clear them out of BBQ charcoal :)
bugger... i got my fence done 2 weeks ago........

Mike, I've looked this up and you ain't wrong mate ;) >LINK (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/money/3601360/3300-jobs-go-as-Focus-chain-shuts.html)<
they were always crap compared to the others though.......
I was in our local one yesterday and they didn't seem to be giving much away..
I only needed some wire wool and a bit of copper pipe so I can't get too upset..
Any truth in the rumour that B&Q are buying part of the Focus chain?
Overpriced for brand named paint/products yes
if you buy tools from any of the usual DIY shops then you deserve all you dont get lol
focus used to have brilliant cheap tools, then they put 300% on them.. so they don't sell....... in ours, the hardest thing to do is trying to find basic diy electrical or plumbing stuff... they have huge displays of stuff like kids bedroom furniture..
This has been on the cards for a while, although they announced in the past day or two they'd given up trying to find a buyer lol Was on the news last night, possibly the night before.
B&Q and Wickes have purchased and rebranded (or will be rebranding) a number of Focus stores. The rest will close.
focus used to own wickes.. they got bought by venture capitalists, wickes then got sold off to Travis Perkins, leaving focus to muddle on...
people watch food & essex slappers on the telly these days.. diy is old hat.
Any truth in the rumour that B&Q are buying part of the Focus chain?
Yes that is true, a friend of mine works in my local Fucus (so I get a 20% family discount :p ) an its him who I was talking to about it earlier.
B&Q have bought about 20 branches, Wickes have bought about 10 or 15 but the rest are in limbo pending closure.
Not surprised tbh
Focus sell utter tat for stupidly high prices, since Toolstation opened up few years back I can get decent stuff for quarter of the price
As we have B+Q and Wickes I expect Focus to be another empty building soon
this may sound a daft question, but, what does B&Q stand for any way??
i was thinking the other day when i was driving.
Block & Quayle, the founders.
