Well, I've bought a mk1 which has a stripped interior, I've just got the dash to it, but my problem is I've never wired a dash, my looms a little over the place...
I don't know what goes to what, I have a Haynes manual but if I'm honest it makes no sence to me.

Can anyone help? Just what colours are what, how's the best way to put the dash in and manage to get the wires connected etc etc

Best way I found was to feed the wires through the dash and fix it tempary in place on both sides.

Most of the wires will be in the correct position when the dash is bolted in, and not all the plugs are the same so should be able to work it out.

I hear the way to resolve this is to throw away the Mk1 dash and put a nice Mk2 one in there.... :d

pete, the loom will have been laid out pretty much where it should all go. so once the carcass is in place, most of the wires will be close to the various switches. a quick browse in haynes will help identify the correct ones.
