Plate type diffs

Is it normal for a plate diff to clunk and make noises on full lock or when cornering at low speed?

Yes they sound absolutely awful!!!! Common on gripper diffs. They sound like they are going to spit the innards out the box.

Feels like driveshaft is about to come out, everytime someone comes in my car I have to give them a quick 5 minute lesson that its a lsd and its suppose to make noises but they're just thinking I'm making it up lol

I know what you mean, they make a awful clunking grinding banging noise. just a small tip try and avoid flooring it from a standstill on full lock, thats when they dont like it also snap shafts.
