Just done a conversion on my nova & i'm now running a 1.2 master cylinder with drum rears & v6 288 fronts,
The problem is i'm used to the brakes in my moden daily driver so it makes the pedel in the nova seem as if it has alot of travel, So where abouts should i feel the brakes kicking inn.....

Mine get around 30-50% pedal travel with very little effect.

After that its like someone has thrown an anchor out the boot lol

Check your servo is working OK by pumping the brake pedal til its solid then starting the car, the pedal should fall away slightly if its OK.
Check for free play in the linkage under the dash, this can be adjusted but be carefull as you can jam the brakes on if over adjusted.
Make sure the brakes are bled fully.
If they still feel crap, that is unfortunatly how Nova brakes are so get used to it lol

also, if you haven't already done it, get the rear brakes cleaned, serviced & readjusted. the self adjusters simply don't adjust, and a drum full of brake dust doesn't actually brake at all well.
