Project Red Gsi Freshen up

Thought i would start a thread on my red gsi now as iv just started to do afew bits on her, im gesing afew of you will know the car as i owned it for 4 years before i sold it,

it was only gone for a year but i wanted it back the whole time so bought it back lol, sadly when i got it back it was'nt as clean as when i got rid!,

Plans are.

Repaint engine bay,
Fit two new front wings /also have them painted
New rear archs (dented not rusty)
Change wheels,
Paint inner archs
And afew more bit along the way

Well got stuck in at the weekend,
sanding the front pannal and engine bay back due to orange peel paint,
made sure she was all flat primed her up then layed on few coats of red
heres the pics.

got the primer on and a first coat of red, was really windy over the weekend and i dont own a garage so my mate said we could use his lean to with afew tarps on.

Really happy with the finish as we only used cans,

Today iv been trying to sort out my stubby mirrors manged to get a pretty spot on template to cut the mirrors on, hopefully get hold of a glass cutter in the week so i can get the mirror cut! once there sorted i can get them painted up ready to fit, was trickyer then you think making templates lol

Fair play for getting it back

It certainly looked a state when Si had it, arches looked fooked, as did the paint overall

What's happening with the turbo then ?

Edd I know mate when I went to pick it up I was shock and so gutted about the condition it was in, not to worry tho a full repaint and new archs is on the cards, as for the turbo it's not really had any work done on it for Afew months it's pretty much finished just not had chance to get it home from the garage which is 25 30ish miles away, should have it home soon tho, can crack on with it then,

So on Saturday I droped two wings off too the paint shop to get painted up ready for next weekend they will be going on ready for Pvs, then the plan is to have the car in the body shop for a full repaint and new rear archs possible before or just after billing,

Also i fitted the comps off my white gsi project on friday, i think they looks awesome but would'nt mind droping the front abit more tho.

Small ish update

Ok so picked up my new wings before freshly painted ready to be fitted,
managed to get drivers side fitted then it went dark, il hopefully crack on tomoz and get the pas side done :)

Sweeet !! yea im going mate, il be in the red Gsi, i actually got the white one home today but its really not ready to be at any show :( hopefully next year lol
