jacked the nova up today and found that both rear wheels wobble slightly (rock back and fourth) its only a tiny amount of movement but could this be a sign the bearings are about to go?

Are the bearings rough or noisy when you spin the wheel? if not just nip them up, till the play has gone, then back off to the next split pin hole.

they sound fine when you spin the wheels, all you can hear is the discs rubbing slightly. just a slight bit of play if you grab the wheel and rock it

Haynes has a good technique for torquing them so not to over tighten.

I don't think a tiny amount of play in the rear bearings is a bad thing so if they're not noisy and have been fine like that I'd leave em alone

Hold the spring while you spin the wheel if the bearings gone you will feel it through the spring.
