Rear Parcel Shelf, Mk1 Different To Mk2?

Ive had this problem for ages now, my parcel shelf seems to keep dropping off the shelf supports at the back when im driving along, its almost asif the shelf isnt wide enough to fit into the gap, i know mk1's have different shelf supports, are Mk1 shelves not as wide as Mk2 ones?

Seems odd, I had my old MK2 parcel self in my old MK1 without any problems.

No dont think theres any differance tbh does the shelf sag in the middle may just want replacing.

Nope its dead straight and strong, mabey my self supports are warped or something?

I'd go with it being the side supports - pretty suret he ones in my old Mk2 had the same problem where sun/heat had warped them and the shelf slipped out all the time.

Fixed with blutac though lol

The plastic Mk2 side supports are a bad fit, mine and my previous Mk2 were rubbish for this too. I eventually swaped the plastic items for mk1 in the first Mk2 , not bothered with this car tho, too near the end of its life!
