right after owning a few novas now mostly with there arches gone and hiding rot everywhere, i have decided to shed a good amount of money for a clean one, and having to use it everyday i went for a mk2 as there just easier to live with i think (Sorry mk1 whores)

the car is a 93 mk2 luxe plus with central locking and leccy windows. its done 70k and does drive really well.

in the 3 days i have owned it i fitted a 4-2-1 manifold and full magnex stainless system

and went and picked up some new coilies and fitted them
the engine is a 1.4spi which is pretty restrictive however i have orderd a kent rally cam for it so might have to put a 1.4 carb and inlet on it.

now my dilema at the moment is to keep it on its original wheels or put my calibra se wheels on ?

heres some pics :

Looks nice and clean

I'd keep the wheels that are on it already suit it more IMO

Yes the Calibra alloys ;)

Needs must sometimes but didn't want to really at all and feel sick about it tbh

looks clean mate.

the 15s will fit with the coilovers, run a 195/45/15 tyres and if still touches a wee spacer. think the luxe wheels look too small imo

Curtoise

yeah they look pretty small, they have 4 good tyres and a spare luxe wheel in the boot so may aswell use them

That look nice and tidy, good work spending the extra to get a tidy example!

Mine started as a Luxe+ model too, pretty high spec models with EW, CL, bay sound deadening, nicer interior trim/door cappings etc?

Curtoise

Coz my calibra wheels wouldn't fit under the rear arches lol.

Yeah I quite like the interior

We should have a pick fest up my workshop like with ollies loon when i can FINALLY go and get my hatch, i could also invite my brothers mate who is local and has a red 2dr mk1 loon and there is someone around the dunmow area with a red mk2 hatch on slabs :thumb:

Yours calibra wheels wouldn't fit? That's odd, and yea Josh we will sort something out and come to yours again

Looks good Curt :thumb: does this one have newspaper and filler for chassis legs too? lol

It won't run very happily with a rally cam in a standard motor though

Curtoise
22-05-11, 11:40 PM
yeah i might have to get a kent pulley aswell so i can set it up lol, nah this one seems to be mint, but im hunting lol, your work on the old sr really has inspired me to get rot fixing :) already done one arch lol

Lewis.
23-05-11, 10:27 PM
a pulley won't help much, just leave the standard cam alone. I speak from experience when I say not to put silly cams in standard engines lol it just ends in tears lol + it saves you having to take the head off twice :thumb:

It's a really satisfying feeling once you have sorted all the rot out, and you know its solid :)

moffat

a good quality wax would help keep it red, or could try a clay bar also?

Curtoise
23-05-11, 11:56 PM
i think i will try the wax, then polish on the wax lol
