i think this is rite... pull out the plug that goes into the side of your radiator and put a split pin or paper clip into it to complete the circuit and it should come on, im pretty sure thats how you do it anyway

you could just sit revving it in a traffic queue.lol lol

checking the switch is more fun, as it needs to switch at more than 100deg, if the switch isn't working, just get a new one.

Well I bridged the wires and the fan kicked in, but I then left the car running and the temp was touching the red and the fan didn't kick in :(

When should the fan kick in, regards to the temp gauge? I got told its 3 quarters, is that about right?

Yeah its around that area on the temp guage. The fan switches aren't too reliable in my experience, I've changed a few in my time.

If its had coolant drained etc they can sometimes form a air bubble where the sensor is, Had that issue on mine after the fan not kicking in and buying a new switch to realize there was nothing wrong with the current switch.

Nova temp gauges aren't accurate anyway, IIRC the fan on mine used to kick in at like half way lol
