I bought a silver mk1 with a redtop in it and was just wondering if anyone can shed some light on what model it is. As said it is silver and has a brown/red interior which is complete and original right down to lw/mw radio lol. The car also has no indicators in the wings no rear seatbelts and no n/s mirror. Is it just a very early car or a special edition with that interior? Cheers.
Whats the reg number, pm me if you dont want it on the general forum!
Whats the reg number
A84 NVA? lol
Sounds like a poverty spec early car dude. Get some pics up. :thumb:
i'd say it was a base or at a push an L model.. the early gl had chrome and stuff on.
the V5 should shed some light on it

The strange thing is though I also have a G reg merit and that has no vents in the end of the dash or centre consol where as the A reg does, wouldn't the earlier poverty spec car be less likely to have these? I'm lost lol.
the merit was the base model plus a couple of things, like a parcel shelf for the boot.. i'm not even sure an L model even had the side vents.. the sr, gte etc had the console as std, but the old sales brochures listed them as dealer/factory extras..
Was going to ring my mate at work and get him to check it on the dvla linked database if it didnt show on the MID (as they usually show what model the vehicle is, if the v5 hasnt been altered) yours comes back as a 'Vauxhall Nova L'

So the colour of the interior is normal then? I will have to get some pics up.
I would say so yes, they tended to use some rather old man/garish colours back in the day lol
