yes, get a cam removal tool that pushes the hydraulic lifters down one by one, and follow haynes & the cam company's instructions. a couple of hours should have you sorted. you will need to either strip & clean the lifters of get a new set.

will there be any issues with timing? i already have the engine out with no belt on. the engine's timing marks are all lined up aswell.

well, if you are using a std top pulley as opposed to a vernier one, then there will be no issues. if you are using a vernier, then you have to do a lot of measuring of angles & tdc.

What camshaft are you looking at buying? And has there been any other work done to the engine?

A camshaft on its own can often be a very uneconomical modification in terms of power per pound :thumb:

i'm looking in getting either a kent or piper but the kent cam set on ebay comes with everything, followers, valve springs, retainers. the engine is completely standard as well. i have never done anything like this before but i would like to have it done or do it myself.

I'd get it done at the same time as the cam if you can afford :thumb:

Put a post up in your local region, you might find someone will help out fitting it for tea and biscuits or maybe beer money ;)
