I didnt bother using the ties either - made my own brackets, but they are more unsightly.
I use cable ties to hold mine in, fu(k paying a fiver for what is effectively 4 zip ties!

how big matey i looked at my rad earlier and the fins are major fine!
Just normal size approx 5mm x 2mm
Cut the end off another so i have a full zip tie and just the locking bit from another, find something to use so it doesnt go through the rad, bit of old rad hose cut up etc.

I've fitted a fan by cable tying it through the rad before, providing you are careful and don't rupture the rad it's perfectly fine to do. I used the really thin cable ties designed for fiddly electronic stuff rather than the standard size ones so it didn't bend as many fins on it.

have one on the let with the fitting ties bob on and simple to do
Yeah the fitting kits are spot on, sticky squares to put where you put them through too. Paul's idea sounds good tho, just use normal ties and a washer or similar
Here's a pic of the Pacet fan i fitted to my rad with the proper ties, much better than using cable ties. They can only be used once though thats the only problem with them!;)
