hi, would the following combo of engine parts work together and give a tidy power output. any advice would be a real help to me

HEAD

1.2 head
ported and polished

CAM

uprated cam

BLOCK

1400 block
lightened and balanced

INDUCTION

split carbs running through a custom inlet manifold

EXHAUST

4 branch and uprated system

as i said any advice will be a huge help

use a 1.6 head itll have bigger valves and gsi gte will have round ports easier to match up a manifold or some daewoo lanos 8v had the big valve round ports to

thats what was all the go with rally dudes any way obviously skimmed and machined to compensate compression also had this combination on an old 1.3 and was a flyier

Why not get a C14SE instead.

Years ago I did some measurements on the standard Vauxhall cams and found the best one to use was the one out a 1400 sr, it had higher lift than the 1.6 which seemed strange.

Anyway 1300 block with a 1200 head 1400cam and twin choke carb and it went bloody well for what it was in my friends only Nova, saying that we were only 17 at the time and anything with a engine seemed quick.

With a 1.4 block use a 1.4SE head it has the same big valves and round inlet ports as the 1.6SE head but will give the correct compression ratio.
Its what I use and works well.
As for a cam look at Autosprint cams they good and at a good price.
