Looks to be a good project matey! Has it been hard to do so far?
Nice work, what power output is that then?

So far it's just been a case of stripping the car out. It's a very clean 1992 shell so no major welding will be required bar some seam welding for strength. It's a 1.6 16v single cam Honda Civic engine (D16Z6) which has roughly 130bhp when standard. Going to run it in standard guise for now (still near 200bhp/tonne) and then once it's going we will remove it and turbo it. An easy 400bhp is gotten from these so should be a giggle, while still looking standard ;-)

never seen a sohc gettin those figures but maybe b18 dohc with a turbo on
Do love a bit of speculative BHP guessing. Here's one for you, with enough work it could probably produce 1000+:p Of course whether or not it'd be the "same" engine is debatable but given he hasn't mentioned what the turbo conversion entails 400BHP is a perfectly reasonable figure, as is 180 or 1800 lol

My mate who is the owner of this Panda, had an EG Civic with a B18 turbo and that made an easy 400bhp.
These D series engines are known to produce up to and over 1000bhp so 400 will be easy!
1000bhp ill be watchin out for this one
Nice work.
Love the wooden engine mounts, has Napalm been helping you? (This is purely a joke).
Nice project. Is it going to be a sleeper or what other plans are their for it?

Wood is to keep it in place while we mock up some mounts.
Plan is really just for stupidity haha. I guess 'sleeper' is the label it will fall under haha. Will be funny to see a fiat panda boosting past!

I built a B18 Turbo yonks ago in a mates Civic, never bothered taking it on a dyno but by crist it went like the clappers.
But yes, a B18Turbo motor can walk 400hp easy. Have a butchers here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAEkblGNrr8) for all of 2.0 bar goodness & about 490horse or something silly.
And just to add, yes they really do snap the rpm needle that quick aswell lol
mate of mine has a b18 non turbo and is runnin about 260hp and is seriously quick but still never seen a sohc with that power any footage or any thing of one i can be convinced
500+hp SOHC (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-frAbHST5vc) right here....
And a couple of 900hp twin cammers also here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ji8Llm-nZSE&feature=related).
Ever realised your putting money into the wrong marque engines LOL lol lol
Good stuff..
This is right up my street..
Love small FIATs...
Often thought about picking up a Mk1 Panda..
Keep us up to date, mate...

I realised this a few months ago when my K20 with simple bolt on mods and standard internals made more power than most XE's with TB's etc. :d

but then how much your k20 cost ya compared to a xe nova and cant compare the fun factor either :d
Doubt my Civic cost me that much more than a properly sorted XE Nova with coilovers, TB's etc. As an example it cost me less than what Scott Parker wants for what I would class as a good example of an XE Nova.
I've had six XE Nova's and a LET Nova so think I am in a position to compare and as much as Nova's are fun (I'll always have a soft spot for them) the Civic beats it hands down in most respects.
Can't argue with that Lee your in a good position to fight the hondas corner then I just love the rawness of the little nova but have to admit those k20s are a good machine type r I presume
