electrical issue's that they cant fix.

now they've given up and i need to get a car sharpish.
options are.

02 plate 2.2 vectra petrol, more insurance thou, but good price.
2000, passat 1.8 20v petrol.
2000, seat leon 1.4 petrol cheapest to insure
2001, pug 307, 1.9tdi
2003, seat leon 1.9tdi
2000, focus est 1.8 petrol
1999, skoda octavia 1.9tdi

just cant decide on what to go for.
any thoughts on the cars above, especially any things that are common issue's ie french megans known for electrical faults

Id go with the seat option. I had a seat Ibiza 1.9 TDi and it never gave me any trouble. Plus its like a golf but not a golf lol
Id never buy french ever again after the trouble I had with my pug. it ended up like triggers broom!

Im looking at getting a diesel seat atm myself.

May I add, the skoda, being pre-PD TDI, will be most reliable.

Lol, they are pretty ugly cars I must admit. But personally, I would avoid PD's without reasonable service history. Only from experience of friends.

But I'll also add, my friend has a bora PD with 182k. But it's been fully maintained. In comparison, another friend had a golf PD with just over 100k, and he had massive problems. And I've had a non PD (AHF) with 142k, with everything original other than the clutch, so I mean, turbo, camshaft etc.
