If you have a Mk2 it can be done without too much fuss, but Mk1's are harder, alot harder.

To be honest we've looked at this. It's a lot easier and a better job all round if you change the dash to a Mk2 at the same time. Looks 10 times better and saves you going grey.

Mike Oxfords site mas a good downloadable instruction list on this too.

read the footer :o)

(and use the site everyone says about) - thanks guys

one thing to note is if you do make a bodge job cutting the mk1 dash apart you can use a surround of another vauxhall - its in the guide.

it is FAR easier to put in a mk2

IMO astra gte digi dashes look sooooo old!!
The GTE/GSi 6 dial clocks look much nicer,
and you can still see them in bright sunlight!

i put a digi dash in my mk1, pretty much my first mod and fu*k me it was ard work, took about 8 hours of wiring, then another 4 hours of cutting with a little dremal hand held electric saw and its still not finished, had to drive from surrey to norfolk to get a mk2 cav dash surround for the mod, but, it looks phat. i get alot more people complimenting on the digi dash than i would if i had standard crappy dials.

I think if you want a mod to really pay off you have to work your nuts off to do it otherwise you dont apreciate it as much.

any one know how to change the clock on the digi dash to match up with my old one, mines got like 15500000000000 miles on it and my nova has only done 60k
