before i anyone says its not worth it lol this is for my race car and a strict class lol
does anyone know were i can get a ecu chip for my c14se at all?
or is it just worth a re map?
i'm not sure you can remap the original on the c14se.. on some models from that age with the bosch efi can get the rev limit altered, but not much else.

I know someone who owns a chipping company and he asked me just a few weeks ago if i would like to take my car in to see what he could do with it (c14se :))
so, the question is, how many of you would be intereasted in this?
once i get the car running right i will be fitting a piper fast road cam, it allready has an uprated walbro motorsport pump and fuel filter a K&N cone filter also the heads had a good skim and a very light polishing to the exhaust ports.
i will take it to a local rolling road to get a readout of bhp/torque before chipping to see what gains are made :)
i will keep you posted :thumb:
BTW i will be asking him (if possible) to favour an increase in torque rather than BHP as its a rally car.
it will be fascinating to see what gets done, just what efi does your engine have?

its the nova sri engine ECU in passenger footwell not the GTE where ecu is in engine bay.
it would be interesting :d the ecu 'chip' is removable so there must have been a reason for this in the distant past, did'nt vauxhall do a group N version of the nova? not sure if it was done on the GTE only thou?

they only homologated the bosch type efi.. the rev limit was increased in the black box, and the fuelling was altered with different resistors in the afm/ecu
so just how much power increase do you expect from the 'uprated' fuel pump?

10bhp, its uprated, or 20bhp if theres a sticker telling people of the make lol

non at all, now your being silly;)
the car was originally a 1.4 spi when i dropped the mpi engine and loom in the car the fuel pump also needed changing, i wanted a new pump so i decided to go for something from a company with a good rep in fuel pumps, i paid a bit more but what the heck :) and i dont expect any gains from the filter either :d its fully washable so i can give it a good clean once a year :)
i only mentioned the 'mods' as a bench mark for any changes to the ecu that way any changes that/if give any gains would not be affected by anything else, if you get my drift?
i also have a front strut brace that gives 10% increase but i wont be fitting that til after ;) lol
to be honest i wont be too bothered if NO gains are made, its just a test exercise to see if anything can be done :) even a 5bhp increase is major when the engine only produces 80 something to begin with. Lets just say that i get 10 bhp (anythings possible i suppose) then everyone will want one if the price is right ;)
82bhp from factory :thumb:

I ran a group n ecu on my e16se and the rev limiter was removed and it was mapped to give more fuel through the mid range, never had it rolling roaded with it on so couldn't tell you any figures I'm afraid.
I would imagine the SE PCM's are so old they will be chip not reflash so a bit of a faff to sort.
But as with nearly all 4 pot N/A engines, a remap/chip is very much pissing in the wind unless it got some lairy real mods done to it (at which point its probably better value to move to an aftermarket ecu)
This the chip from a Nova C14SE ECU, Vauxhall rather nicely used an eraseable eeprom:

I personally wouldn't bother, the gains will be so small, it's pretty sorted map as standard IMO

Mine went to the rolling road this Friday and I got 111.6bhp out of the c14se conversion from a c14nz spi. I have put the c14se in changed the fuel pump to a Corsa Sri 16v and timed the stagnated cam to a Kent jam at 114 degrease I think and with the cr f13 box I get a 23.0 hp loos from the engine to the wheels and that's mine lol
