View Full Version : working out clusters???
how do i work out what cluster i have in my f10 and f 13 boxes??
count all the gear teeth.
clean them off, then put dots on with tippex & work thru them.
the other way involves turning the input shaft slowly & seeing how quick the output turns.... less mess but very time consuming.
Looking at the end plate will be a start. look for 3.74C or 4.18W (numbers may be different) C & W is close\ wide cluster and the number id the Final Drive. That may reduce time spent counting teeth a bit.

If you know the box has never been messed with that is
you can identify the FD by notches
6 NOTCH 3:5
5 NOTCH 3.77
3 NOTCH 3.94
0 NOTCH 4.18
1 NOTCH 4.22
2 NOTCH 4.5

Indeed. Velos told me they'd seen a few boxes with the correct F13CR end plates that didn't actually get the CR gear set from the factory. Not unusual but you need to check to be sure.
