ATE ones have a D shaped hole in the front of the caliper so u can see the back of the pad
and have ATE enscribed into the end of them
apperently mikeinoxfords says 2 put em on with the nova gsi and gte 3 spoke wheels ull need wheel spacers i havent tried yet but i imagine hes right (usually is) but i recon they go on with other 14's and 15s deffo

they do go on smaller wheels - but only some, as astras and things have diffrent dimension wheels.
the problem with the nova three psokes is the spokes of the alloy are quite thick, and in the dish of the alloy at the back there is not enough room for such caliper
using spacers gives it just enough room to fit the wheels on as it brings them out wider away from caliper.
the problem i had was brand new disks and pads on the one i tried it on so of course the problem was worse, but i imagine it would be easier with sh!t pads and discs

i got some calipers and disks off a nova gte from a scrappy. dont know if they are standard ones though. they say ate on em and thats bout all i can tell ya. anyone got any ideas as to whether they would fit under my 3 spokes. did ATE brakes come from any other car. can get the disk size if it helps. jon
if it was off a gte then they are not standard. do they have a thin metal clip on the outside of the caliper? or is it the type with 2 metal pins?
also measure the discs, are they 238mm or 256mm

some of the latter novas did have good ATE breaks fitted to them, as a trial for what is now on the corsa B

yer 1992 onwards had the same caliper with a different carrier and smaller disks as i found when fitting to my 1992 1.2i
so essensially all someone with the newer brakes would have to do is buy 2 carriers from Vaux (for astra 16v/cav 2.0) and get some astra 16v/cav 2.0 disks
easiest way to tell if they are the astra ones or late nova ones is to measure the disk - nova was 236mm in diameter the astra/cav disks were 256mm

The ate calipers fitted to novas and corsa have a smaller piston in the caliper,They are NOT the same.
Nova/corsa have 47mm pistons,
astra 16v/cav 2ltr have 52mm pistons,
And YES 5mm makes a hell of a difference.
The brakes you want are 256mm x 24mm discs with ATE 52mm piston calipers from a astra 16v/astra gsi,or cav 2ltr.
