Why do people always try to race nova's? Had my nova on the road properly for a few weeks and everyone wants a race! Pmsl! Anyone else get this?

I got this all the time in mine, even though it was blatantly a knackered 1.2, pea shooter exhaust, 1.2 badge on the back and no go at all lol

I get Saxo's Golfs and mainly standard new shape Fiestas trying it on with me, i never race though im allready on my 3 points lol, 3 more and i'd be banned, whenever anybody asks why i didnt floor it, i just say "Ive jsut rebuilt a redtop and im jsut running it in so dont want to scrag it just yet" works every time lol never asked to show it to anybody, i go mad if someone asmuch as leans on my bonnet :thumb:

People tend to shy away from the Celica, they probably think it looks fast. Just as well too, as I don't drive it fast lol as for the Nova, it seems to turn people into lunatics. I think I've been the cause of a few people getting points and fines too- there's a traffic light grand prix strip in town where the police sit and watch the action then nick everyone lol. Its fun to come up to the lights and wait for a saxo (sorry to be steretypical but 90% of the time it IS a saxo), give him a look then pull away completely sensibly whilst Saxo boy roars off and gets busted 500 yards down the road :d

I generally find it WAY more amusing to drive completely normally and see what ridiculous stunts other people pull to get ahead. Then sail past them in a safe overtaking area lol

We had a bike with passenger on our bumper on the way back from Buxton Monday even when we gave him room to pass he didn't. He finally passed and gave us the finger and let it rip! 5 minutes down the road he had been pulled up by a under cover cop! He looked a bit pissed.

used to get it most night on the way home from work last summer,over 40 miles of backroad.
had a mini race me about 20 miles one night, got to the first roundabout as you head back into the city roads and he turned round and away back into the countryside again, turns out he stayed in one of the villages i'd passed through and wasnt even going my way, only came along for the fun, only follwed me for the race!

shame my manifold cracked clean in half about 5 minutes later :(

I havent had a nova on road for a good year or so :/ but everyone seems to have a point to prove when I'm out and about in the VXR, i like to prove them wrong :)
