View Full Version : iphone update
how do i update my iphone to 4.3.1 instead of the latest 4.3.2?
With great difficulty and instructions that can't be posted on a public forum
i heard there are problems with the most recent update, so i had a go. and it went into recovery mode, where it waned me to restore the iphone and loose all my stuff. no thank you. so i downloaded a programme which kicks it out of recovery, used that and all was fine.

Buh. This is not good news.
Mines freeze-mungus and I was hoping an update would square it up.
all fixed was jailbraking my cousins phone but had some problems didnt have to install an older firmware in the end

Why? Nothing wrong with discussing how to do this. Is it against the rules of the forum though?
In the states jailbreaking a phone (well strictly speaking an iPhone) has been granted a specific exemption from the DMCA.
I think UK law hinges on whether the phone's regional coding or IMEI or other such serial numbers have to be changed. I did look it up a while back but I've forgotten it (my brain resets during sleep lol) now and don't think I bookmarked the particular regulations

I'm on 4.2.1 and all is well
I did post up some stuff on how to jailbreak a iPhone, got deleted lol
I think it's still a bit of a grey area with regards to getting all the apps for free tho
i got it all installed finaly but cydia just dosnt want to open, it just closes straight away
my iphone is jailbroken but im running older firmware

There's still a choice to buy the apps on installous so technically it's ok
Cydia will not run on the latest software
I had a problem with my iPhone and it needed a update to latest software, lost sooooo many apps, can't get cydia to work yet
I'll get it done soon tho

The trick is once you have cydia for that version you don't update there's was a warning about updating in cydia
hmm i sorta found out how to install an older firmware but didnt work, got the error when it was checking with apple
