drilled the hole to feed the ECU and loom into the bulkhead on a nova? (XE/LET)

trying not to drill the huge hole to put it all through into the cockpit and curious where/how other people have done so? is it possible to fit it in the scuttle if its all water proof?

pics and diagrams are welcome.:)

thanks

bruce

I'm sure the XE ECU in its original home was inside the car, unlike the E16SE which is on the firewall.., so probably not best in the bay (unless your Baxter and put it in a carrier bag!)

Here's mine going round the turret, although i wish i'd have routed it like Will did:

Mines the same as mazz's but like he said wills is a better way as i find my looms marked the paint round the turret from moving around.

a seperate grommit, ive got to drill my nicely painted firewall soon as well :(

ill be running it through the bulkhead like wills, dont think theres anywhere lower down behind the pedals, not enough room. Could do through the other side behind the glovebox but would mean extending all the wires

i had to use a hole cutter on the firewall behind the battery for running my loom through, mines is smallblock though

My loom goes thru the fire wall right where the battery clamp is.. then in thru the bulk head where Mazz's does..

I cut a hole in here for my 1300

I needed to strip the OE heatshrink off, saves cutting a hole in bulkhead/firewall

Benn, no its fine, totally misses it, loads of room, ill get a pic of the other side

Mark, shut up you big northern homo :d pikey would be cutting a needless hole in the fire wall ;) looks far neater this way imo

If you look behind where mine goes there is room for the loom to go to the left and totally miss the brake pedal

aslong as the LET loom lets me take it that way then im sure ill do it like you.

thing is, is that ill most likely have to take the plate off to drill it. or is there room from the inside of the car to drill it?

Plate comes off after undoing 4 nuts

Pics of ours through the bulkhead!!;) Made the plate so that a cut down grommet would fit neater in the stainless plate to accomodate the MBE loom as its smaller in diameter!! Has a water proof rubber backing and is sealed against the metal!

I love Edd's idea and I was pondering where to cut the hole in my firewall for my loom, I now know where it is going, why didn't I think of it before :tard:

Edd, you legend :thumb:
