Its been about 3 years or so since Ive had to tax a car over the counter, what docs do you have to take nowadays????
mot certificate, logbook i think the tax document, money and insurance certificate.... everything basically

Aye although you can just use the reminder rather than logbook IIRC
i wasnt sure on the log book, just do it over internet, much easier :) no faffing

Would love to, but where Im going to be I need the tax disc in hand, not in post ideally.
Hardly any post offices tax cars anymore now..
Think it's just the main ones..

Now you mention it actually, I do kinda remember that bit :( lol
Why need the disc? As soon as you've completed the online gubbins, you can drive even without displaying the disc.
Fuzz may give you hassle about it, but only if they don't know the law. ANPR won't ping either, and its unlikely a donut machine will about face and come after you just for a tax disc, assuming they'd even spot it.
