First I need to decide which engine I've gotta install. lol I have a SR 1.3 and 1.6 GTE engine. I like the idea to start with a 1.3 bike carbed, but I have not at all clear the issue of bike carbs. I'm making some adapters for carb. Tomorrow I will put photos.

Well, I have the bike carbs. I's just apart for cleaning as part of a mess does not seem to be anything broken. Finally I will be installing the 1.6SE, what is the diameter of jets needed for this motor?

This is the tube 40/45 stainless steel that I've gotta use adapters to make the bike carbs.
http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/685/foto0202m.th.jpg (http://img163.imageshack.us/i/foto0202m.jpg/)

And the carbs

http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/50/foto0208b.th.jpg (http://img42.imageshack.us/i/foto0208b.jpg/)

As you can you see, there are a lot of work.

http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/1388/foto0210.th.jpg (http://img811.imageshack.us/i/foto0210.jpg/)

What is the appropriate length for the collector tubes?

http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/2104/foto0215k.th.jpg (http://img713.imageshack.us/i/foto0215k.jpg/)

So what's the best position for bike carbs? Vertical, Horizontal or angle of inclination?

I needed to know if I just need to extend the jets that put 1.25 or all, you know?

zeifer33
14-05-11, 02:24 PM
Well, now I have ready some adapters for my bike carbs. There are still a few adjustments but I can see how they look.

http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/6059/foto0265t.th.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/98/foto0265t.jpg/)

http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/7128/foto0267.th.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/846/foto0267.jpg/)

Now i need a fuel pressure regulator to try start the enginelol What could be better, R1 pump or GTE + a fuel regulator?

nova_niek
14-05-11, 06:27 PM
Zeifer, nice work on the R1 carbs. :)

Gut feeling tells me you don't want to use an R1 fuel pump. Fuel path on a motorbike is a lot shorter and less obstructive (meaning less resistance) than in a car.

Not sure if the R1 pump can overcome said resistance, so you want to use a GTE pump instead. Do make sure the fuel pressure regulator is only a few tenths of a bar over atmospheric pressure, unless you want your carbs to overflow.

Can't help you with stack lengths, needle and jet setting and all that. You really have to get an experienced rolling road place to help you.

Let us know how you get on mate. :)

Hasta la vista,
Niek

zeifer33
14-05-11, 07:33 PM
Mmmmmm I see, Unfortunately there is no rolling road near where I live. So, my work is based on tests done in this forum and a little improvisation. Well then it's decided, I will use the fuel pump of my GTE and seek a pressure gauge to modify the original pressure regulator.

I'm glad you like it.:thumb:

hi nice project youve got there, are the float chambers on the bottom of the carbs level when fitted to the car?
that how i believe they should be set up!!
also the longer the tubes (within reason)the more torque you will gain i think.

zeifer33
22-05-11, 09:29 PM
Well the car is now ready to begin repairing, reinforcing, sanded and painted.

Work on the bodywork was done following the "Nova Build Competition Guide" now I have the dimensions of the chassis reinforcement parts and this week I start to make them.

http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/3196/foto0275a.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/839/foto0275a.jpg/)

Also I have to finish the bike adapters carbs.

zeifer33
23-05-11, 10:26 PM
Today, almost finished the adapters for bike carbs, and I have the front strengthening plates frame done.

looks good mate :) is your manifold a webber twin carb manifold with your own adaptors? it's a good idea that is
won't be long untill its running now :thumb:

zeifer33
23-05-11, 10:51 PM
Yes its a webber manifold with a adaptors made by me. Only need to solve some things, lower fuel pressure, and modify the 1.4SR ignition distributor for 1.6 GTE camshaft. I have really wanted to see it work.:d

25-05-11, 03:43 PM
As I continue with the updates, the body is ready to begin welding the joints, and the first 2 reinforcing plates are welded too.
