Hi, Im looking to fit a pair of eccentric top mounts from compbrake. to get more adjustability im going to need to enlarge the strut top hole plus probably use a set of plates to add strength. anyone have any experience of this or point me in the direction of some build thread pics of the cutting and welding process. cheers !
You shouldn't need to modify to fit compbrake eccentric top mounts just rotate it so the stut is pointing to the back of the car as much as you can.

only problem is lining up the holes, im looking for maximum castor with a little bit of negative camber however all i can get is lots of negative camber

cut the raised lip around the hole out using a jigsaw, weld the strengthening plate on top then cut that too

Thats what i think ill do. wasn't sure if a jig saw would cut it. should do a neater job than an angle grinder. Iv heard of people machining down the top mount but that sounds expensive and pointless lol

and weakens the top mount significantly. Angle grinder will make a huge mess of things lol
You can only get away with a few mm off the topmounts, think it allowed a small amount of extra adjustment on mine but not much.
It may be possible to retain some strength there if you only cut out the section you need to (inwards and backwards?)
i was going to cut the hole bigger with a holesaw for this
then weld the strengthing plate to the chassis around the circle for strengh
Put the strut top plates on and cut it out
Angle grinder will make a huge mess of things lol
Pah, you obv haven't got the grinder skills lol
