2000 BMW 540i.

4.4 V8 286bhp

Sailed about in it for a few days (20-30 mpg on average)

Then on Sunday night it died and didn't want to start, just turns over and won't fire up. Hopefully get it booked in for a go on a diagnostics machine and back on the road in a week or so. ( quick google has me thinking it's a crank position sensor, but this remains to be seen as it's pretty much impossible to diagnose without reading the codes)

But when it works it's a very nice place to be when driving, everyone should have a v8 rumble in their lives. :)

Also a pic of the astra I bought last November, currently sorned ( just got a £75 fine through the post for v5/tax balls up that wasn't my fault - DVA CVNTS!), also needs front brakes sorted and I think a wheel bearing.

So it looks like it's back to old faithful for a week or 2

How random, that astra is from Hull and iirc it was for sale round here aswell as i was having a look at it, iirc one of the quarters wasnt very tidy and it had an advert in the rear window proclaiming 'The car is on pistonheads' wow thats a helpful ad i thought lol

How long ago was that spud? I bought it over here. Although the only bad bits are the massive dent in the drivers door, and a very slight bubbling on the petrol cap and 1 rear arch, the rest seems sound..... ***runs outside with a magnet to the rear quarter***

Yeah had Sri cav fan blades on it mate. There's a few bits and pieces that arent 100% to me but for what I gave for it, it'll do rightly as I've always had a soft spot for them.

Small world though.

lol along with calibras these seem to be the only oldish vauxhalls that aren't subject to NI tax for some reason! Even though they are IMO one of the best looking!

Edit- don't suppose you remember the price of it at the time you seen it ?
