Hi,
Whats the best way to de-badge your car, alot of people have recommended using a hairdryer and a knife rapped in masking tape, is this the best way, also my car is red and when the badges come of i will be able to see where they came off due to the colour mismatch, what can i do, dont have money for respray yet. :?
there are various ways to debadge - hot water is also good (not boiling) - knife and masking tape works well. Once off use sticky stuff remover (3M stuff from art shops) to get resedue off - then tcut gently the area to level paint off.
Colours all depend on how faded paint is

when i did mine, i just boiled a kettle, poured it over the badge/stripe and carefully peeled off with a flat head screwdriver. just make sure you dont use it at an angle otherwise u scratch the paintwork! it is really easy mate u just gotta take ur time!

the kjettle method works on white paint fine but on any other paint you will find it will blemish, as if you have left car in sun for years on end.
you can do this fine. but afterwards use t cut to bring colour back up in paint, and then mir or autoglym to "seal" the paint afterwards - i did it on my first car! found out the hard way
However you do it you'll end up cutting back the panel, then the whole of the car as it'll look so good.
