It's easy remove your doorcards and remove the manual winders and pop rivet or bolt the electric ones in. Then route the wires.

ive just fitted my e/w and c/l to my mk1

its a mk2 set up though as i have a gsi dash etc

HOW TO BASIC
remove winder hand, theres a small sorta U shaped clip behind it i used a small flat screwdriver to get it out

remove screws that hold doorcard on the pull it off

my doors havent got any windows in at the moment so was a bit easier but if yours has glass in you can either remove the glass or close your windows fully and tape it up so it dosnt drop when you unclip it

unclip the glass holder from the winder arm at the bottom of the glass

drill the rivets out or unscrew the screws that hold the window mechanism to the door then slide the mechanism out the door can be quite akward

you need to drill a hole in the side of your door to allow the loom into the door, best size would be 25mm ive used 20mm hole cutter but its just slightly small remember to put grommets in your holes before you feed the loom through

you also need to drill a hole on the chassis side to get the loom from the car, i drilled a hole just beside where the indicator wire goes same size again 25mm would be best and remember grommets BEFORE YOU FEED THE WIRE THOUGH

slide the new electric mechanism into the door and rivet/screw in to the holes that the old one came out of

now you need to clip the glass back onto the new mechanism, lower the glass back down or put it back in depending on how you done it

best way i found was get the clip lined up and use mole grips to clip it back in as its quite stiff

if your fitting central locking too the solenoids go to the bottom corner of the door underneath the handles

my doors had holes already there so just riveted the solenoids in

there should be a rod that hooks into the top of the solenoid then with a grup screw joins onto the rod that comes from your door pin

make sure when you screw it on to the rod that the solenoid is either up and the door pin is up or the solenoid down and door pin down

do the same on the other side

i just layed the wiring under the carpets, i was told that it should plug into the top right of the fusebox but mine already had plugs in them for some reason

the plugs fitted into the lower right hand side of my fusebox, the black is switched live for the E/W and the other is permanent live for the C/L

the switch holder fits in the mk2 center console behind the gearstick and the 2 plugs should plug in the the switch holder

there will be a couple brown wires there that just need earthed, i had a couple pre-drilled holes there already so just shined them up and screwed them down with an ring connector on the end of them

voila all done an working
