Can it be adjusted its the engine with the dizzy tried to move dizzy a bit but did not seen to make a differnce?or does the ecu do this

ecu controlled from various sensors inc. idle stepper motor etc

check all your vac pipes and clean your idle control valve

done the icv m8 not sure if the vac pipes are right tho. Been told it did not matter what way they were .Also do not have the sensor in the manifold due to runing four branch am i best to keep the sensor conected or disconct from loom

i take it you mean the lambda sensor? you really do need it, weld a boss in the side of the collector on the manifold. without it the ecu has no idea how its fuelling.

whats it doing ? is it to low, to high or all over the place ? whats it like when driving and when accelerating ?

it ticks over fine when sitting still only does it when you come to a hault at junctions etc even tried slipping it out of gear at speed and then it cuts out awsell.Seems to happen the most when droping from high revs to nothing .

and you have check air intake/ vacuum for leaks ? and idle air control valve, checked wiring connections and relays or getting very hot and fuel relay?

what is it idleing at ? between 850-1000

is car getting to hot check oxygen sensor

is there a leak/blowing in exhaust system

you checked or done simple things like give it a service, clean up throttle valve and linkage sticking, throttle position sensor.

engine control module test,

do you know how diagnostic/pin test if so what was the flash sequence.

c14se engines are great and very rarely go wrong and its always something very simple

Is this a transplanted engine? If it is, do you have the VSS (speed sensor) fitted in the gearbox and connected?

General Baxter

do they have a vss?

phazer

Yep, certainly do.

General Baxter

Mine never came with a vss but mines from a Corsa (coilpack)

hmmm got the plug but no where too put it thanks for the pic m8 is that a f10 box thats what i have

calibra-keith

you have an early one with f10 then ?, later ones are f13/f13 CR

my c14se came with an f15 no vss

corsa ?

phazer

All the Corsas had a VSS. The original SRi one (mine was a later dispack SRi) had a mechanically run VSS, as in, it screws in the speedo drive hole and then the speedo cable screws in on top.

If you have the plug (it is the round one) then your ECU is expecting it to be connected. Given that it makes Corsa engines (X16XE etc) cut out at junctions when run without I'd be fitting it just to rule it out if nothing else.

well when i disconnected my gearbox etc for my conversion there were no wires coming from my gearbox apart from the reverse sensor switch

im running a vss now though as i have a digi dash

stevie78

how do i fit it

phazer

Unscrew speedo cable from the box. Screw in the VSS and then screw the speedo cable into that.

stevie78

do you know what vss to buy are they all the same ?

phazer
01-05-11, 04:28 PM
The digi dash senders are not the same as they replace the speedo cable.

I've just had a look to see if I can get you a part number but there is nothing listed on my EPC (lots of Nova stuff has gone or moved to the corsa section). Only thing I can find is the diff assembly which is listed as coming with pulse generator but I think thats the toothed bit to drive the VSS/Speedo.

Mine is still in the gearbox so can't get a number off that for you either, sorry.
