ive been looking into the small block 1800s and was wondering if u could bolt the x16xe head to it to run more compression nd also use my tbs and managment ect... anyone shed some light on this for mee ???

Yes an X18XE is big block...you want to be looking at Z18XE or X18XE1

so an x16xe head will go on an x18xe1 bottom end ???

i dont think it does. In theory it should, but differences in casting i believe stop that from being achievable.
The x18xe1 cylinder head is a better design anyway; no benefit using the older 1.6 design.
See Tom Reid's build thread on MIGWEB for info on the cylinder head stuff.
Manifolds dont fit either - would need new/tweaking.
But you can get new inlet/exhaust manifolds for itbs etc. for this engine.
i was asking similar stuff a couple of months back, and the block is a different shape. apparently the crank will fit the 1600 block, but the gasket face is definitely different. if you were rebuilding a 1.6 then reboring it & fitting the x18xe1 crank is a viable option.
