Hey all, recently purchased a clean 1.0 litre nova with the intention of converting to a Gsi rep with 2.O litre redtop. What are the best brakes to fit?

No need to fit discs on the back unless you like the look of them tbh.

You may (or may not lol) be able to fit 256mm ATE brakes from a cav/calibra/astra. I had them on my saloon originally under 14" SRi steels and they just fitted, but opinion is divided on whether or not they fit behind the alloys without any grinding of the caliper.

Standard rear drums in good nick are more than adequate. The most common front brake conversion is to fit ATE calipers and 256mm discs. These can be found on most 2.0 Vauxhalls - Cav SRi, Astra GTE/GSi etc and may fit under your alloys depending what offset they are...they were made in ET49 and ET47.5
