View Full Version : would an astra mk3 1.6 8v inlet fit my x16xe

the astra mk3 i was looking at was a 1.6 8 valve injection, only asking this because the top of the inlet mani looked very similar to the powerbox's you can get for my x16xe, so does anyone know ? cheers

No it wont, not even close!;)lol ok just thought id ask before i took one off and tried to fit it, are there any other routes to go down on the inlet side of things apart from powerboxes?
Throttle bodies, carbs or bike carbs, but that starts getting expensive, £'s for bhp = powerboxs are really good and work very well!:thumb:

Theres a bloke who sells them on ebay for about £160. just search x16xe on ebay.
Here's the one I've put on the engine I built. its a one piece item though.

Yes I believe so! It was a swine to fit though still fabricating a flange to fit the throttle body yet as it hits the strut turret.

Had a look at the build pics, obviously been fitted to a corsa when its been originally made by the looks of it with the extra room in the engine bay! :thumb:
Would it not of been easier to just cut the inlet tube back and sit the throttle body further back rather than moving it further down the inlet track?
Probably would mate yes! But then again i didn't want to start lobbing bits away as I just had it powder coated :cry:. Never mind it should be ok now.
