I'm struggling to find one of these on the net? Basically I've just finished fitting a c16xe to my mk1. I was able to run the multi v alternator, but now I need a short belt as I've done away with the power steering pump. Anyone have any ideas, it needs to be 858mm can be 5-10mm shorter but no longer, I only have around 25mm of adjustment.

What alternator adjuster set up did you use, I used the adjuster bracket from a e16se and spaced it out? I used that before on a c16 conversion before and worked well, but the belt came from a diesel generator and I can't remember which one lol.

i have got a c16xe in my mk2 nova with multy v, and im not using an adjuster, ive got a 6 rib 865mm belt and its a tight fit.... perfect, u say 858mm that will probly be too tight especially with a tensioner i dont think youll even get it on

i used the auto tensioner off the original engine, just binned all the a/c p/s set up.

865mm belt would prob do tbh, what is it from mate? 858mm was just the tight size I measured, there are bound to be differences.

John: the engine is in now, so I'm not changing it now lol, but that was an option early on the build that I decided against.

Thanks for the input so far guys :)

there is a 6 rib belt listed in the qha catalogue as a 863mm, it is off a 206 1.9d. the part no. is qbr6863... as in 6 for ribs, 863 for mm. ring your local factors, and see if they list them. or ring your local bearing supplies store.

edit.. did some fishing round. the movano van 98-00 2.5d has a 6rib 860 belt.. as does the porsche 928...buy one for the movano & then tell your mates you fitted a porsche one.
