right my temp gauge does nothing apart from sit at the bottom of the gauge

i have change the gauge, checked the wire, crimped a new spade connector to the temp sender and changed the temp sender (the one under the cts) is there something i have missed, if i touch the spade connector to the exhaust manifold when it is warm the gauge shoots up so shows the gauge and cable are working and changed the temp sender twice thinking it might have been faulty when i bought a new one

this is what i bought

well, it could be airlocked or the thermostat could be knackered.. what engine is it?

or the 2 senders you have tried could be faulty

its a c20xe, bought 2 brand new senders so really dont think it would be 2 faulty ones, did read about air locks, but read that the c20xe bleeds itself? if not how do i make sure there is no airlocks? is there a way of testing if the thermostat is faulty?

you can test a stat by lowering it into a pan of boiling water to see what it does, but just buy a new one, as its less trouble.

if the thermostat is open when it is cold, it is knackered.

new ones are less than a fiver.
