Its not as simple as losing power, Infact you wouldnt lose any power, Its just about how the gearbox uses the torque and power put through it.

IMO it might make a difference (In how the car drives) But I can't say for sure.

I dont think you can fit a 5sp to a 1lt iirc im sure i read it some where on here.

if it fits, it just means the ratio's and flexibility should be better - ide expect first 4 gears to be closer on the 5 speed, then 5th will give you more mph at lower revs; maybe better mpg, higher top speed..?

The bellhousing is different on a 1.0 gearbox to other F10s...not sure how its different but if the bolt hole pattern is the same then I can't see any reason why a 5 speed can't be fitted

the bell housing is different. you would need to strip the innards, swap the output gear & fit a complete f13/5cr or f10/5cr close ratio cluster & shifter box (and mod the gearstick) to get any benefit, as a normal wide ratio(wr) box would have the same speeds 1-4, then 5 would be an overdrive, and the 1.0 might struggle to pull it.
