Resonator

I thinks that's what its called, just after the downpipe

What is it for? Just a silencer?

I have fitted my new exhaust and it has the resonator then a large silencer then my back box

Tbh the exhaust sounds pants now it sounds like a basic car

Now I don't want a mahoosively loud exhaust but if the resonator is just another silencer could I cut that out or better cutting the silencer out?
