Throughout the 5 or so years my Garage has been existing, I've been spilling various different oils and fluids (oi, cut it out!) over it and obviously a LOT has been sucked into the floor. Its not painted but thats the route I want to go down. Before I can paint it, I need to seal it with PVA and water, I'm just worried the PVA wont set if in contact with the oil stains.

Any insight or info?

what about some driveway/patio cleaner/degreaser and a pressure washer first..?

how about some traffic film remover?that's what we use to get all the spilt oil/brake fluid etc up before we paint the garage floor.

Wouldn't regular washing detergent and water scrubbed over the floor disperse it enough for it to set in?

Otherwise some other commercially available cleaner for the above purpose.

I tried pressure wash with degreaser, it doesnt work once the oils have soaked into the concrete

i have just painted my oil and other shiz stained concrete floor and the paint if oil based should be fine. i used 5L of metal fence primer that was gray. and watered down with white spirit. it took a while to dry but its nice.

I dont fancy scrubbing or a powerwasher as the garage is full and cant really be emptied without the aid of a digger.

An oil based sealer/primer seems to be the way to go as long as it wouldnt mix with the current oils and bring them through.....

just do a trial bit and see what happens.

its a good plan indeed although my trial bit was half the floor so thankfully it turned out ok.lol lol

I used this stuff on our floor in the shed then painted it, it coats the floor with neoprane so when your painting it doesnt pick up all the dust that wont get swept up.

Bit expensive there, but pop into a flooring company and ask if they have any half drums as you can dilute it down.
