i guess the body is sound though?

to be fair i look at it both ways like you have, yes its expensive BUT

the engine is strong and running well, and if the shell is good?

you would expect to pay ?250 for engine? and maybe ?400 for a good shell?

How many engines you want mike? can have 5 at that price if you want.

You would spend that on a perfect shell but as it states in the feature it aint mint!

I sold a 2.0l 8v for ?175 about 6 months ago, and they are very very common.

Like i said i am not trying to put your car down just intrigued by it.

i truly WISH before i even thought about engines i had come to you... rather than going to just novas.

ok fair does they have given me another engine bottom end out of good will, but it dont look much better than the last  oh hang on a minute it does. the water pump aint siezed like the first and also it has what looks like a new oil filter on it, rather than an original GM thats rusty to f00k

even though i have gone the 1.6 8v tuning route, i was so tempted to go 2ltr 8v after we did it to my best mates nova. it was so easy. but id already started the tuning route and also commited my money to all the parts and also new bottom end

 joys of motoring

yeah but its not just the engine & shell...

driveshafts, new 15" tyres, uprated brakes, new clutch, new battery, long MOT and tax... etc.

ok it needs a bit of work, but if someone did the work themselves, it wouldnt cost a lot.
