View Full Version : Fitting bonnet pins
Any advice on how to do this?
I can't think of how you line up the pins to the bonnet and where you drill etc.
Any advice appreciated.
Cheers
Guess work really mate.
Drill through the bonnet first then you'll get an idea where the rest should go.

Oh yeh I forgot about them...mainly cos my front panel needed plating over :tard:
Paint the tips of the pins and lower the bonnet onto them, then drill it from the inside. Or, drop the bonnet onto the pins and centre punch the dent it leaves. lol

^^ thats how i would of said, once you fit the the stud to panel (you will see where, or check other peoples pics to get an idea) put a bit of paint on the end and drill from inside of bonnet, the you can fit the pin and mark out the screw holes on bonnet. flush ones are basically the same other than cutting bigger hole.
Thats how i have done it in the past. Fit the pins to the front panel, add some paint or grease to the top on the pin. Lower the bonet onto the pins, relift the bonnet and pop mark where the marks are then drill trough the bonnet from the inside. Jobs a good en.
Thanks for the tips, I will attempt this when I get my pins
old pic of mine you can just make out were they are
there was holes aready there so just bolt the pins in and use paint on top to mark the bonnet :thumb:
