View Full Version : Spitting spark plugs
The nova is spitting out the 1st one on the block (from the left side) replaced the spark plugs but it just blows it back out again when its turned on.
What's the cheapest option on getting this resolved. And how much damage has it done to my engine :wtf: as had to drive it back to the house sounding like a lawn mower.... meh
Helicoil will fix that, it's just stripped thread on the head

The only way is to fit a thread insert like a helicoil there are special spark plug thread ones. I'd remove the cylinder head to fit it though as you might need to drill a slightly bigger hole for the insert. as for damage it should be ok.
That's how mine was done mate, head removed drilled out and new insert, worked a treat and not expensive just a little time consuming srtipping rebuilding etc,
So im not going to have to scrap it :D YAY! ha.....
ok well then i guess its a case of let the stripping commence....gona start studying the haynes manual as im out of my league now haha lol :thumb:
am i right in assuming a new head gasket will be needed?????

Find a head for it its easier as you have to strip the head off it anyway
