Iv been looking at possibly fitting a ast2 cam to my standard 13sb but wanted to check to see if the cam followers and valve springs would need changing as it states on the Kent cams website, or can the standard equipment be used.

Cheers for any help.

I would follow Kent's advice

I ran my 1300 with an ast2 on standard springs but when i went over to 1600 i had problems with the springs bottoming out.

Yeah i'd follow Kents advice. Luckily, i got a Piper cam, runs a longer duration and 2mm more of lift than the AST2 but can still run hydraulic lifters.

I would fit new standard ones - providing you can get them cheaper than Kent items...you will lose some of the new camshaft's gains through tired springs and worn followers. You should fit new followers anyway :thumb:
