well a few may know jack has purchased my cavalier,
i sold the cav as a mate has had this for 7 year and the engine is a 40k from new td and ive known the van for the last 9 year and i know how much time and money he spent on it so i jumped at the chance though not to my styling its a good base,
i plan to jump on the bonnet and rip the skirts and spoiler off,
i however have a mk1 wing set which will be fitted along with gte bumpers and wrap around rear spoiler and gte skirts,

it has a toad alarm and various bits including full gsi spec inside which will stay as it is bar my corsa gsi steering wheel:p

oh and a respray in another colour not pineapple yellow:thumb:
she is already on the road and my mate fitted a belt kit and new clutch and cable and only covered 6k in it since so its a real good base to start

Looks ok tbh, going by your description I was expecting worse lol

Some bits are abit 90's but looks like its done to a high standard

Sort the front lights/grill out and you probably get away with the rest for the time being IMO

daz i built the cab with a friend and he nearly cried cos i wanted to keep it mk1 so we already had the panels so fitted the mk2 stuff, i think it would look off mk1 anyway,i have never seen a mk1 van gte styled so i thought it may be something different, i am thinking of the mazda green to be honest, and jack the styling and colour has grown on me and i like it in a way even though its not my taste,i still cannot get over that it has a genuine 40k engine in her lol thats plenty of life left in it, it failed mot on cv boot, front brakes, horn, washers and wipers, just stuff from being stood, im glad ive got it straight in use anyway, bet you cant wait to pick the cav up can you jack?

I'll be sad to see the Nova go, but I am actually pretty excited for the cav :d Spud keeps teasing me with pics of it lol

It'll be nice to have a car that can do more than 200 miles without needing to refuel for a start lol

metallic black sounds good to me too rich, its all your fault haha, my plan is all black everything including wheels, red calipers and red stripes on the bumpers, i am also after a sr or gte grill to shorten to fit the morettes in anyone can fix me up, i plan on it being done for pvs, its clean for what it is balley and jack i do like the colour too just its blemished, the filler has cracked but it has been built 7 year ago so i cant grumble, rich i will pop down let you take her for a spin, cheers for the comments guys

Yes rich done 400 mile already in it one thing ive noticed is the temp sits rather low at a quarter and the heaters are only very slightly warm but seems reliable, does 115 aswell lol,i really like driving it too

blue_peg_16v
15-04-11, 01:19 PM
i know my van wasnt a turbo but that never got out the blue and the heaters were only slightly warm, turn the boost up it will soon get warm lol

davidfox280585
15-04-11, 01:55 PM
that did cross my mind but i dont want to till i replace the inlet gasket as every td i had blew it to pieces and had to drive round with leaky boost

I think im taking it all off and making her look like a gte van but keeping the morettes but retro fitting a standard gte grill to fit inbetween so i can still use the gte badge and look slightly oem but i cant wait to headbutt that bonnet vent lol

How many mk1's in black do you see with the snow plough... Non ... so I'd love to see this on your L reg van, it would be a nostalgia trip of how things would have been if the Nova was made throughout the years without change.

Metallic black MK1 L reg van ftw ;)

id love a plough but im keeping this to a budget southie, i have the gte stuff lying about at home already so all i need to buy is paint and i grill, rich has donated me some skirts, i also have a gte full decal set so it kind of makes sense

Nice van, once its dechavved it will be spot on :) and I bet there aren't many 40k mile engines about!

that did cross my mind but i dont want to till i replace the inlet gasket as every td i had blew it to pieces and had to drive round with leaky boost

Shouldn't be a problem, Balley's is running 32psi with no problems :thumb:

I actually quite like the outline of it and the skirts work well with the van panels somehow? I'd lose the vauxhall badge, 90's spoiler and the bonnet and leave it as is personally except maybe remove the rear seats as people in the back looking at matt black paint is a bit silly lol
