Right my td isn't charging.. the thing has been playing up for ages and last night stopped completely. The charge light isn't working either and the rev counter is all over the place...

Basically what I want to know is how do I test the charge control unit and where is it?

Any one had this problem before!

I know there is juice to the alternator and a good earth! the charge light only stopped working last night and the problem has been around for a week now(since I got it on the road)

Help please

 .com

When the engine is running have you put a meter on the positive of the altenator (wire going to battery) see if its producing electricty?

checked all wires, nothing touching, no fraid wires?

only easy soloution is to put another altenator and see what it does but getting hold of one to borrow for an hour wont be easy!

thats all my ideas...useless but i tried!

Well its not chargin at the lead.. If I unplug the 4 wire plug the charge light works?? how does that work then?

wheres the charge relay thing?

the four wires are red, black, green, red and yellow

The red is B+
Black Ign+
Green (rev counter I think)
Red/Yellow from charge relay

Hlp needed guys !

So when I unplug the multiplug the light comes on and If i feed the red/ yellow the light goes off..

If I plug it in then feed the red/yellow the cun7ing thing still don't charge so I think this rules out the relay and charge controler...

Am going to bite the bullet and get a new one tomorrow and see what happens .
