Won this car on eBay. But I was bidding with my heart instead of my head I’m afraid and this is why it is back up for sale so soon after the purchase. I intended on having it as a little project but really didn’t think this plan through!
I don’t have the time, space or money to do what I had planned. Which is a real shame as it is a pretty quick car that needs a few bits doing to it.
Anyway, here is the description/spec from previous owner
Here I have for sale my 1989 Mk1 Vauxhall Nova. It started life as a 1.2 8v sting but in the space of 18months has been transformed into a 2.0 16v 'redtop' road legal track car.
This car is by no means a show car and has been used how it should.
The spec of the car is as follows.
Chassis:
Engine bay full seam welded and painted Glacier White
New rear arches
Full respray 18 months ago in Glacier White
Delocked passenger door and boot
GSi rear spoiler
Bolt in 4 point roll cage painted Glacier White
Suspension/BrakesWheels:
Full Avo adjustable coilovers with 280lb front springs and 200lb rear springs currently lowered around 60mm all round
256mm drilled and grooved ATE disks
Ferrodo DS3000 pads
Refurbished rear drums
5 x 14" Astra GTE "teardrop" alloys with 185/55 profile tyres
Engine/transmission:
C20XE out of a 1990 Astra GTE rebuilt 1000 miles ago
Ported, polished and skimmed head
New piston rings, shells, bearings and bolts all through a long with all new gaskets
Heat wrapped larger bore exhaust manifold into a 2 1/2" system with a 3 1/2" outward rolled back box
Induction kit
Full Samco coolant hose set in orange
Vauxhall "F20" gearbox with new 3 piece clutch 1000 miles ago
Custom Motorsport driveshaft’s and hubs with 300bhp maximum load pressed with new wheel bearings.
Interior:
2 front seats - Sting spec
2 front door cards
Completely stripped out
Digi dash currently showing 112k (needs wiring correctly)
Battery cut off switch
Bad bits:
MOT runs out May 27th
Heater/blowers do not work but will include the parts to get them working
Small bit of rust coming through on OSR arch (pictured) and on OS door. There are also a few runs in paint work.
Wheels could do with a repaint but like I said, this a fast road car, not a show car.
Taps a little when cold but then again, which XEs don't?
I have put 6 months tax on the car when I purchased it. The wishbones/ball joints need looking at. And the carb needs setting up correctly. I just don’t have any time to sort these issues out. The above problems didn’t really bother me as I intended to use the car for track use etc. When I picked the car up, I drove it home from Sandbach, Cheshire to Milton Keynes, Bucks (130miles)
The car does have MOT and TAX so is up to you if you want to drive it home or get it towed.
Please be aware that I am still waiting on log book. So when the car sells, you will get a full detailed and dated receipt and I will send on log book with the new owner’s details on as soon I get it through the past.
I'm sure there are things I have missed off so will edit as I remember them.
